BAMIS International Symposium on "Body Work and Body-Mind integration" was held

BAMIS (Body and Mind Integrated Sciences) International Symposium was held at the University Hall on May 13. It was held as part of a national project of BAMIS to develop "Tough Body and Mind"‚ supported by the Ministry of Education‚ Culture‚ Sports‚ Science and Technology (MEXT). It was organized by the Doctoral Program in Sports Medicine‚ Doctoral Program in Coaching Science‚ and other programs of the Graduate School of Comprehensive Human Sciences.

With the theme of "Body Work and Body-Mind Integration"‚ symposiasts practiced a variety of body exercise‚ and discussed how the exercise affects body-mind functions and releasing the tension from people's body and mind.

A total of 137 people including 24 staff‚ 2 speakers from America‚ and 5 foreigners living in Malaysia‚ Hong Kong‚ Taiwan‚ America‚ and Japan participated in the symposium. People in Japan also took part in the event from all over the country. In addition to the university staff and the graduate school students‚ the event was attended by a variety of people such as fitness instructors‚ dancers‚ counselors‚ staff of a non-profit organization‚ and monks.
